Gelato Street
I came across this sweet find late last year and I’ve been obsessed ever since!
Tucked away in the far corner of the rooftop garden of Sarit centre, gelato street is an ice cream parlour after my own heart. They make artisan gelato that is fresh, flavourful and just addictive. They have an array of flavours with some that change on a weekly basis like passion sorbet and others that will always be there like cookies and cream.
The Daily Café & Bistro
I visited their Hurlingham branch at Doctor’s Plaza but they also have branches in Gigiri at the Gigiri Craft Centre and at Sarit Centre. It’s a really cute spot, their decor is A1. They have quite an extensive menu, with breakfast all day! I had waffles and a side of bacon, which came with some fruit & way too little whipped cream… why was it just a drop of cream?? I liked my meal but would have liked a better serving of whipped cream.
Crafty Chameleon
Located on James Gichuru road, Crafty Chameleon is both an outdoor & indoor restaurant which I really love - you get the best of both worlds 😊
I like the name too, nice play on words; Crafty i.e. Craft beer which they make in house btw and crafty - chameleons can be crafty little creatures … well that’s what I understood from the name, maybe they have a whole different meaning to it.
Nifty Cafe & Wine Bar - Tigoni
Another day, another great gem discovered in Tigoni. Tunahama Tigoni ama? It seems to be the new Naivasha and I’m not mad at it😊 Heard about Nifty many months ago from my cousin and I always wanted to go but just never had the time until December of last year.
I finally made my way down there with a dear friend for one of our many food dates😋 The drive to Tigoni makes me very happy, I think being surrounded by fresh air and lush greenery is what we are severely lacking here in the city so this little escape is worth it every single time.
Hero
I’ve been to Hero a couple of times between last year & this year & always had a fantastic time there. The food was great, the service was on point and the place just has great vibes! I had prawn tempura (quite large ones) which I felt had way too much batter tempura wise but all in all a good fleshy prawn on the inside.
I also had some very soft, flavourful lamb chops that was paired with a tangy sauce and some fries:) I know it’s a sushi place but I don’t eat sushi so I didn’t try any but my friend did and he absolutely loved it.
Peppertree
This beautiful rooftop garden restaurant is located in Westlands at Delta Towers. For those who remember it took up the space where Buddha Bad used to be. I haven’t been to peppertree in a very long time, probably in like four years now.
It’s not somewhere that really left a mark on me foodwise so I never thought to go back but as this was a birthday dinner plan, I decided to go and see if anything’s changed over the years.
