The Nook Cafe & Bar - Nanyuki
Talking about a nice culinary gem in Nanyuki today. The Nook actually used to be in Nairobi and then they moved to Nanyuki to a bigger space that fits their aesthetic quite perfectly I feel.
Located on Haile Sellasie Drive, the Nook has a very ranch style aesthetic. Lots of grass, lots of wood features, and lots of outdoor seating available. They have a beautiful succulent garden built into some tables that made me wanna have a little succulent garden built into my coffee table too.
Biscotti Cafe
If you’ve seen the video of the cheesecake with syrup being poured all over it then you know about Biscotti Cafe. Located in the Westlands Eatery Strip Mall, Biscotti Cafe is a cute little cafe that is very inviting from aesthetics alone.
With a light airy colour scheme of whites, pinks and light greys, entering Biscotti feels like stepping into a cloud. The feather like light fixtures are probably what add to that feeling making it feel super cozy but so breezy at the same time.
Izzi Brunch & Cake
This is a place so many of you have asked me to visit for time! I decided to take my time going here to give them time to settle in because I’ve had many disappointments when visiting restaurants when they’re brand new.
I came here for brunch with my bestie and one thing about this place - AESTHETICS👌🏾 It’s giving the visuals Beyonce denied us, whewwww! It’s such a stunning place, I love the minimalistic theme, earthy colours and how open and airy it feels without actually being open and airy.
Canopy Cafe
I visited Canopy Cafe this past weekend for brunch and I have lots of thoughts! The cafe is located in Ushuru Sacco Plaza, Kilimani.
The setup is very minimalist, with muted tones and scattered greenery. The space being quite large could do with maybe more greenery or some art work as the walls are bare making it feel emptier than it should be.
They have a limited menu, with brunch and lunch/dinner and a separate drinks menu.
Mode Café
This is one of my favourite places to go to for brunch! They went really simple on decor: minimalist, muted tones and an open plan space which makes it seem bigger than it is, there’s some outside seating but majority is indoors.
The menu is quite limited, which may concern some but for what they offer I think the menu fits. We had some coffees, the Chicken and Waffle (KSH1,200/), Shakshuka (KSH1,200/), Apple Crumble French toast (KSH1,100/) and Prawn tempura (KSH1300/).
Kahvalti Cafè
I came across this place on Instagram’s explore page, I saw a few people talking about it and the food looked nice so I decided to try it one day.
It’s located on Lenana road, in the lobby of 197 Lenana Place office building. It’s quaint and not super spacious but it fits the cafe aesthetic really well. Cosy seating all around and great lighting especially in the corner seating areas.
