Pop’s Diner, located in Mwanzi Market, Westlands is possibly Nairobi’s first American style diner and as someone who spent a good chunk of her life on that side of the world, I was very excited to have a classic diner experience right here without incurring a flight cost. They really hit the mark on the decor, working in different elements of classic America like the juke boxes (wish they had one that actually works!

Bonjour from the picturesque Dijo rooftop bar & restaurant! Located at the top of the Mandrake in Westlands, Dijo is a contemporary French restaurant and gastro bar that serves unique French bistro cuisine, distinct cocktails and a stunning 360° panoramic view of the city. As you step out of the elevator and into this expansive establishment you’re greeted by a myriad of vibrant colours and prints right from the doorstep. There’s a stunning waiting area by the entrance which makes for a great photo backdrop (I think that was their intention with that section).

Ciao from Caffe Concerto, a super cozy and quaint Italian restaurant located in the heart of Kilimani. It’s a house turned restaurant that serves up a variety of authentic Italian meals made with traditional ingredients and a touch of that homemade goodness we all know and love from our own home cooked meals. The restaurant isn’t as spacious and I think that’s what I really like about it. A few tables here and there, perfect setup for dinners for two at the most maybe four.

Talisman is a beautiful restaurant located in Karen. It’s been around for as long as I can remember, I actually can’t recall a time when Talisman didn’t exist. What started out as a small family restaurant back in the 90s has since grown into one of the most iconic restaurants in this city. The house turned restaurant is settled in a beautiful corner of the Karen neighbourhood. There are cozy indoor seating options and the restaurant opens up to a beautiful outdoor setting surrounded by greenery and pockets of seating for either big or small groups.
