Birdy's Chicken & Chips
I had the pleasure of trying out Birdy’s Chicken & Chips a while back and I’m here to tell the tale 😊 Birdys is a vibrant chicken and chips shop tucked away in a nice corner of the Parklands area.
I love their very bright yellow theme running throughout the restaurant, it really makes it stand out. I came here for lunch with my girlies and we tried a few things from their nice succinct menu: Chilli mango cheese burger (KSH400), fried quarter chicken & chips (KSH300), quarter poussin chicken & chips (KSH350), corn ribs (KSH250), an Oreo milkshake (KSH400) and passion and strawberry lemonades (KSH250).
The Pot Belly
Today we’re talking about the underrated Pot Belly restaurant & bar. I had not heard about this place until a few months ago and I immediately paid a visit when I discovered it along Matundu lane in Westlands.
Their decor is quite simple, a little too simple for me. However, I think we know by now that what a place lacks in decor it makes up for it 10x more with the food!
Bang Bang Thai
Bang Bang Thai is a stunning restaurant located at the village market - new wing (do we still call that side new?). It’s gives off a very welcoming aura right from the entrance that’s adorned with so much foliage you feel like you’re entering an enchanted forest ☺️
The decor feels very eclectic and alternative compared to what you’d think a Thai restaurant would typically look like. They have expansive seating in their main area and cozy booths and isolated rooms further in that provide more privacy for groups that don’t wanna people watch while dining.
Frontiers - Nanyuki
We’re in Nanyuki today! Talking about Frontiers coffee bar and restaurant located at One Stop, Nanyuki town. It’s a beautiful outdoor space and nice reprieve after a long drive coming into Nanyuki from Nairobi.
I came here for lunch with some friends on a Sunday and we didn’t have trouble finding seating despite being a large group. They have plenty of outdoor seating space under the hot Nanyuki sun which was very welcome coming from freezing Nairobi.
Umami Street
Umami street is located in Lavington but is quite tricky to find since they didn’t have any signage leading to it. They need to fix that. When you do eventually find it, it’s located in such a pretty compound! So bright and green and it looks even more stunning when the sun is out and the cherry blossoms peep out of the perfect hedges!
I came here for lunch with a few friends and since some of us had just come from Japan, it made sense to come try some Japanese street food so they can tell us how legit it is.
