Barista & Co.
I’ve been a fan of this place for quite some time now. I’m not vegetarian and I rarely go to vegetarian places by choice but one day I tried this place and I’ve been a loyal customer ever since!
Located at Keystone park in Riverside, Barista & Co is a cute little coffee shop and vegetarian restaurant that serves up a mean brunch. First of all - they have the best mint hot chocolate (KSH400) I’ve ever had & stay going back for, their lotus biscoff milkshake (KSH650) is so sinfully good and their hazelnut nutella latte (KSH450) is a must have!
Samaki Samaki Seafood & Jazz
It’s been a while since I’ve been here so I’m going off of memory. 1st of all - I must comment on decor… It’s a really well-outfitted place, feels very by the ocean without the ocean. The daybed section kwanza, top notch… I don’t know if they still have it but if they do, that’s the best section to sit at.
The menu has a lot of variety, my friend and I tried a couple of different things, chicken lollipops and prawn summer rolls for starters, both were really good.
Red Ginger
First of all, this place is so massive! It feels like a mall that has just one restaurant and it gets crazy packed - so make reservations beforehand if you can. They have an expansive menu filled with traditional Indian dishes, Indian bbq and oriental dishes as well.
We had bhajiaz, chicken tikka, some butter naan and garlic naan, and we also tried butter chicken, palak paneer & cheesecake for dessert.
Gelato Street
I came across this sweet find late last year and I’ve been obsessed ever since!
Tucked away in the far corner of the rooftop garden of Sarit centre, gelato street is an ice cream parlour after my own heart. They make artisan gelato that is fresh, flavourful and just addictive. They have an array of flavours with some that change on a weekly basis like passion sorbet and others that will always be there like cookies and cream.
The Daily Café & Bistro
I visited their Hurlingham branch at Doctor’s Plaza but they also have branches in Gigiri at the Gigiri Craft Centre and at Sarit Centre. It’s a really cute spot, their decor is A1. They have quite an extensive menu, with breakfast all day! I had waffles and a side of bacon, which came with some fruit & way too little whipped cream… why was it just a drop of cream?? I liked my meal but would have liked a better serving of whipped cream.
Crafty Chameleon
Located on James Gichuru road, Crafty Chameleon is both an outdoor & indoor restaurant which I really love - you get the best of both worlds 😊
I like the name too, nice play on words; Crafty i.e. Craft beer which they make in house btw and crafty - chameleons can be crafty little creatures … well that’s what I understood from the name, maybe they have a whole different meaning to it.
