Nairobi Eats Valentine Picks
The season of love is around the corner and I want my guys and girls to stay ready so they don’t have to get ready:) I’ve compiled a small list of places that I think would make for a great Valentine’s lunch/dinner plan for you and your significant other/s (we listen and don’t judge over here lol).
Tokyo
Tokyo is a Japanese restaurant located in the Lavington area. It’s such a nice spacious place with both indoor and outdoor seating surrounded by lush greenery. Came here for dinner on a weekday so it wasn’t super packed which is usually what I prefer. I found it odd that they had so many signs up about their last order times, like around each corner of the restaurant You can never say you didn’t know that they take their last orders at 9pm and close at 10pm lol.
Knead
Knead is a very cute bakery located at Kanha building, just opposite Sarit Centre. I had seen so many posts about it and being the pastry lover that I am, I had to check it out.
The setup is very well done. You are welcomed with a large display case of yummy looking croissants and other baked goods when you step in. There are lots of warm colours, lots of lighting, lots of natural light too and plenty of space and different seating arrangements depending on how many you are.
Seafood Cafe & Swahili Dishes - Watamu
Last but not least on the #watamueats series is Seafood Cafe. This roadside cafe is quite easy to find, it’s right by the main Watamu sign on Gede Road. It’s a simple restaurant with very little thought to decor and ambience though I did appreciate the graffiti murals on the walls. The place gives very much kibanda-esque vibes which I was happy because that means the food will be excellent
Papa Remo - Watamu
I love a good beach side restaurant and Papa Remo is just that with all the vibes to match It’s spacious with lovely coastal decor, comfortable lounge areas and a great central bar. The ocean breeze welcomes you as you walk in and head towards the tables on the beach (best seats in the house imho). The views my goodness!
I came here for a solo dinner and I was very ready to stuff my face.
